Encased in plastic is a good, large, red cleavage of rhodochrosite. If you like rhodochrosite and you like paperweights this is the one you have been waiting for.
It comes from an old collection and with only a note that describes the rhodo as being from the American Tunnel mine. I am guessing that it comes from the 1960's from a collector/hobbyist. It has a homemade, but well done look to it. And it is in very good condition with no scratches or dings.
