S.T. DUPONT MONTPARNASSE LARGE BLACK CHINESE LACQUER FPEN- 18K GOLD NIB

Offered in this listing is a very large S.T. DUPONT MONTPARNASSE  FOUNTAIN PEN in  black "LAQUE DE CHINE" marked on the barrel band along with a script S.T. DUPONT and PARIS. The large pen is 5-1/2" long with a barrel diameter of .52."
On one edge of the long slender clip the pen is serialized and on the opposite side, MADE IN FRANCE.  The clip itself has a black laque stripe down its center..Lots of gold plated trim in excellent condition. There are no flaws whatever on the  cap and barrel.  I don't believe this pen has seen any use whatever. The previous owner, stored and displayed his pens in a pen case ocassionally dipping them, but often not. The pen is a cartridge/converter filler and an excellent piston converter is installed. This pen has an unusual design feature. When separating the section/nib assembly from the barrel, one must turn a small pop-up handle at the base of the barrel which frees the section. Another distinctive design feature is that  the cap sits flush on a barrel flange that widens out to the diameter of the cap... all these parts are gold plated.  The rounded, very smooth nib, which looks like it has never seen ink,  is marked  18ct, D(script), 750. It appears to be a Medium point and is very firm. Great pen.  No box or paperwork.
