I AM SELLING SOME OF MY COLLECTION HERE ON EBAY AND I WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT I AM A PRIVATE COLLECTOR AND NOT AFFILIATED WITH ST DUPONT.Fashioned from bronze, each pen & base take shape in the hands of the artist. It is chased, engraved, polished and finishes with a gold colored patina. The column engraving is inspired by the god Quetzalcoatl, a Mesoamerican Deity whose name comes from the NAHUALT language and has the meaning of "feathered serpent".
At the top of the pen: Tikal was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. Though monumental architecture dates back as far as the 4th Century B.C., Tikal reached its apogee during the Classic Period, ca. 200 to 900 AD. During this time, the city dominated much of the Mayan region politically, economically and militarily.
On the side of the pen, Tzolk'in calendar, and on the other the Mayan date December 20, 2012 engraved. The inside stairs are engraved and gold finished.
